It sits
quietly like a gray animal in the woods, comforting me while I hold it
against my chest with both of my arms. Whenever I give it a pat, its soft
and furry texture brings a smile of delight to my face. It was given to
me long ago, and it continues to this day to bring joy and playfulness to
any child's heart. Carrying within its lifeless cloths qualities to
comfort anyone, it reminds me of spring and spring's warmth. Without it,
I become subject to the desperations of knowing no one and having nothing
to cling to. Everyday I wait, expecting it to howl in desperation of my
feelings of being alone and lost.
